Big Gunz is a good time hard rock party band. The music of 5 seasoned professional’s features arena power tunes of the 80’s, 70’s classics such as Zeppelin and Aerosmith rounded out with 90’s and modern favorites. Besides clubs, the majority of the band’s shows have been for fund raisers and private events. Here are some 2007 highlights:
- As charter participants and organizers, the second annual “Bands for Benefit” raised over $5,000 for the Leukemia Foundation. 8 bands donated their services to perform all day at this now annual July outdoor event held by the pond at Singletary Rod & Gun Club in Sutton, MA. Lots of good music, food, drinks, and games for a good cause; children always welcome.
- The Gunz were hired for an outdoor fundraiser and barbeque at the Kas-Bar on Rte 20 in Worcester to benefit the family of Private First Class Brian Moquin Jr. who was killed in Afghanistan. The benefit also featured a motorcycle rally that was organized by “The Law Dawgs” which is a biker club consisting of members of the Worcester Police Department. The hospitality from the Dawgs and the club was unbelievable.
- Our first show for a municipality was in York, Maine: Merchants via the York Recreation Department hired Big Gunz to drum up activity on a beautiful summer evening by playing directly on Long Sands Beach. Hilarious mayhem broke out when a dozen beach balls we released and the kids went nuts. Parents enjoyed reminiscing and hearing songs they haven’t heard in years. This was yet another show where someone repeated the same statement made on stage by Guns and Roses Keyboardist Dizzy Reed after we opened for him last year; “I can’t believe they just played No More No More (Aerosmith)”.
- The Worcester Police Department’s “Law Dawgs” brought us back to the Kas-Bar for their annual outdoor summer bash; all proceeds benefited The Wounded Warrior Project for our men and women of the military.
- Saturday evening November 10th at the American Legion on Rte 5 in Enfield, CT (near Pizza Palace): The Gunz are playing a fundraiser to benefit the Enrico Fermi High School baseball team for their Florida tournament trip. This is BYOB and refreshments. Please contact us for tickets or pay at the door.
